The community has made that wish come true, raising nearly $70,000 as of Sunday evening on a GoFundMe for the pair.
Their father died on March 8 surrounded by family at 42 years old.
Ron was born Dec. 3, 1975, in Carmel's Putnam Hospital and attended Arlington Schools until his graduation in 1994. He attended SUNY Albany where he started his career of 24 years working for Barnes & Noble.
He was also a resident of Stormville, having most recently lived in Schenectady.
He loved his job as a textbook inventory manager and enjoyed every day with all his co-workers.
Ron was a man who poured himself into everything he did. For years, he worked as an EMT and loved every minute. He was an impressive chef in the kitchen and could whip up any creation you could imagine. He had a passion for traveling and trying new foods wherever life brought him.
He loved knowledge and learning, but his favorite moments were when he was surrounded by his wife, sons, family and friends.
More than $69,000 had been raised for his sons, Colin and Henry, on a GoFundMe as of Sunday evening.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Patricia (Ashby) and Ronald J. Casey, Sr.; his maternal Grandmother, Charlotte Ashby; and his beloved dog, Dublin.
He is survived by his wife, Sasha (McAuliffe), of 12 years; his two sons, Colin and Henry; his mother Ellen Casey, of Poughquag; siblings, Tara Cirigliano (Matthew DeHond) of Hopewell Junction, Michael Casey (Lance) of New London, CT, Daniel Cirigliano (Kelly) of Sidney, Kari Atkins (Heather) of LaGrange; grandparents, Mary & Charles Steinitz, of North Fort Myers, Fla.
